What does stepping outside of your comfort zone mean to you?

If you could truly get outside your comfort zone, what would be different in your life now? What would you do that you have not been doing? Who would you BE that you have NOT been being?

It’s easy to stay in a safe, familiar place in life. You know exactly what to expect and the fear of the unknown is a common one for most people. There’s nothing wrong with playing it safe, but the only question is… Could you be happier than you are now by stretching yourself? Could you realize more of your potential if you would just lose that fear… shift that limiting belief or change that behavior pattern that stops you from having what you want?

For example, I worked with a woman who wanted to lose weight consciously, but her subconscious mind thought it was safer to be invisible. Based on her challenging experiences as a young girl, it’s easy to understand why NOT being attractive to the opposite sex would make her feel safer. Yet, that fear… that she didn’t even know was present… kept her from finding good health and happiness.

I worked with her to release her fears about losing weight. We worked on releasing her limiting beliefs that she was destined to be a BIG person her whole life, as well as that belief that being visible made her unsafe.

We worked on changing her behavior pattern so that she was waking up an hour earlier to exercise… something she did not think she was capable of doing. We worked on changing patterns of behavior so she prepared healthy food in advance and had some healthy options when she was hungry instead of relying on fast food.

We conducted some hypnosis sessions in the safety of my Los Angeles office where I had her imagine being at her goal weight. She imagined herself looking at her own reflection in a full-length mirror. She described the adorable outfit she was wearing and the joy she was feeling. I had her imagine the glow in her skin and in her eyes as she beamed with pride and good health.

She “saw” herself step on a bathroom scale and see the number at her goal weight. She looked down at her own two feet in her mind and knew that it REALLY was her! She believed it and went on to achieve her goal weight in reality. That which the mind can conceive and believe, it truly will achieve!

In order to create lasting change in your life, you have to be willing to get outside your comfort zone and GET COMFORTABLE WITH FEELING UNCOMFORTABLE for a while…until it becomes a familiar pattern. If you want some help with this, just reach out.
