Did you know that hypnotherapy can help you to focus and retain information?  Have you ever had a brain freeze… you know you know something, but you cannot for the life of you call up that information in your head?  It drives you crazy, and then eventually, you let it go… and two hours later, when you have forgotten all about it, that information just comes to you?

There’s a reason for that… When you’re relaxed, your mind works best.  In a state of panic, when you are trying too hard, the mind draws a blank.  This happens all the time when people take tests… You know that material in your sleep, but when panic sets in, it’s all a blur.  The minute you walk out of the exam and the pressure is off, and suddenly, the correct answers flow easily.

Hypnotherapy can train you to relax deeply, so your memory, retention, and recall improve. Also, while in hypnosis, there are certain suggestions that can be given to you to help you to focus.  For example, if you imagine that you are turning on a spotlight and shining it on whatever you want to focus your attention on, you’ll get into the habit of doing this when you are in a normal waking state.

So, you’ll turn on the imaginary spotlight to focus only on your exam materials, and everything else will grow dim and distant. You’ll shine the spotlight onto the professor in the front of the room, so you automatically listen intently… then easily and effortlessly absorb the lesson.

In many cases, Attention Deficit Disorder or ADD becomes a non-issue when you learn techniques to relax and focus better.  The next time you take an exam or need to remember a presentation, take three deep breaths and allow yourself to relax. Tell yourself that this is not a life or death situation and that relaxation helps your performance. Allow your subconscious mind to guide you because everything you need is already stored in there and all you need to do is relax to access it.

The more you practice these deep relaxation and hypnosis techniques, the more automatic and stronger they become.
