At one time, a bad habit served a “good” purpose… it may have provided relief from boredom and stress or could have just been a pleasant social activity.  Now, because this programming is so deeply ingrained in the subconscious mind, it becomes difficult to stop, even though there is a strong conscious desire to quit.  Hypnotherapy and NLP Coaching Techniques are very effective tools to guide you in breaking bad habits and in developing new, healthy ones.

Whether you are a nail biter, smoker, hair twirler, drinker or overeater, chances are that the habit has been there a while and that you developed this habit to satisfy a need you once had.  Now, that need may be gone, but the habit remains.

If you take smoking as an example, at one time, you may have thought smoking was cool.  About 95% of your total mind power, your subconscious mind, thought it was cool and the other 5%, your conscious mind, also thought it was cool.  With your subconscious mind being aligned with your conscious mind, there was no conflict.

Now, suddenly, you may think of yourself as a social pariah… After all, smoking is prohibited in so many places and second-hand smoke is known to be harmful.  Consciously, a habit you once thought was cool, now makes you feel embarrassed, but you can’t seem to stop.  Why not??  Aside from the nicotine addiction, your subconscious mind may still think it’s cool!

At some point, all of your habits served a purpose.  Nail biting might have relieved stress, hair twirling might have relieved boredom and so on.  After three weeks, these behaviors became a habit.

This is where Hypnotherapy and NLP Coaching Techniques are used to speak to your subconscious mind and have you derive new learnings that create a shift in the deepest part of your thinking.

While in hypnosis, you can imagine yourself doing what you’d rather do… perhaps seeing your hair or your nails growing long and beautiful, while your hands are at your side and not in your mouth.  Once you release whatever negative emotions or beliefs that were there when you created this bad habit, you are free to create a future you love… filled with new positive habits and behaviors.
