On my website, I identify the broad category of “Sleep Issues,” which encompasses many different specific presenting issues.

I’ve seen people with general insomnia or inability to sleep at all, people who have difficulty falling asleep and people who wake up throughout the night and can’t seem to stay asleep. This category includes sleep walking, sleep terrors, nightmares, lucid dreams, disrupted sleep for eating… or something else.

There is no “one-size-fits-all fix” here because each person’s situation is very personal and unique to them.

There are, however, many commonalities for all issues. For starters, there is an origin of the issue, meaning a root cause. It is our job… that is my client and myself… to dig deep to discover what that is. It can be complex and can be the result of a combination of reasons.

The complicated part is that the root cause of the issues may have started long before the actual presenting issue related to sleep began. In other words, sleep issues you experience today may be stemming from deep fears or negative emotions that were created in childhood.

For example, I once worked with a married man who had sleep terrors so severe that he would thrash and shout in his sleep all night. This was a terrifying experience for both he and his wife and the debilitating physical and emotional fatigue from lack of sleep was taking its toll on both of them and on their marriage.

I had a 4-hour breakthrough session with this man and we identified and released childhood fears and then stressors and concerns in his adult life. He was able to surface scary thoughts and internal dialogues that he was unaware he was having. By challenging these irrational thoughts and fears with logic, he was able to make them disappear from his subconscious mind and find inner peace. This resulted in his ability to relax in his sleep and awaken feeling refreshed and energetic.

Obviously, this also benefited his wife, who could then also enjoy a healthy sleeping pattern. Their marriage grew stronger as their overall emotional and physical health improved. You have to remember that if two people sleep together and one has a sleep issue, two people have the problem.

Hypnotherapy and NLP techniques work wonders for completely resolving many different and complex sleep issues. So, if you or someone you know has trouble related to sleeping, please always feel free to reach out to learn more in a complimentary 30-minute phone consultation.
