What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is quickly becoming recognized as one of the safest and most effective methods for addressing a host of medical conditions and undesired behavior patterns. It can be used to reduce stress and anxiety, lose weight, stop smoking, eliminate or manage pain, overcome grief and loss, expedite recovery after surgery and cope with chemotherapy and radiation, just to name a few.
Hypnosis is a deep state of calm and relaxation for your body, while your mind is more alert and focused than in your normal state of awareness. While in hypnosis, positive suggestions for change in your life are easily received and accepted by your subconscious mind, thereby bringing about desired results and new “automatic” behaviors.
Clients are completely aware and “in control” while in hypnosis and will not do anything that they would not do in a normal waking state. A person cannot be hypnotized “against their will.” Therapeutic hypnosis is used to improve your health and well-being and is different from “stage hypnosis” that is used for entertainment purposes only.

What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy works because the hypnotic state allows people to concentrate more intensely on a specific thought, memory, feeling or sensation while blocking out distractions. The specific course of therapy and hypnotic modality employed is completely customized to my client’s situation and issue to be addressed.
Often times, visualization is important in hypnotherapy and is useful to help my clients really “see” themselves in a way that is contrary to their current programmed identity. Just like a computer, we are reprogramming the subconscious mind to make positive and desired changes in your life. This is especially effective for weight loss and smoking cessation clients. We can “seal” an image into the subconscious mind, thereby making it known and familiar. Once this occurs, the goal can be attained.
I am a Certified Therapeutic Imagery Facilitator and can take you on a “journey” of discovery. I will work with you in a safe, relaxing and nurturing setting to help you to have a more powerful relationship with your inner self and reveal “truths” that may be hidden deeply within your subconscious mind. Once these “truths” surface so that you may access them, breakthroughs occur and behavior patterns change. Rather than “provide” you with answers, I coach you to discover your own answers, as only you know what you truly need. Sometimes this exploration process helps to reveal what may be blocking you from making different choices in life.
How does Hypnotherapy work?
I work with the most powerful part of you… your subconscious mind. Studies show that the subconscious mind actually controls about 88% of everything we do, while the conscious mind controls only 12% of all our behaviors and thoughts. That is the reason why you may desire certain behaviors that just don’t seem to happen because the subconscious mind may not be aligned with your conscious desires. In Hypnosis, I work with your subconscious mind, while you work with your conscious mind and together we achieve 100% success!
Hypnosis is a natural state and one that you may have experienced many times in your life. For example, have you ever been so deep in thought while driving on the freeway that you missed your exit, yet you were awake and in complete control of your vehicle?
Have you ever laughed or cried in a movie, though you knew that you were watching actors on the screen? The subconscious mind does not know the difference between reality and fantasy and that is why hypnotherapy is so effective.
Whatever you can imagine while in Hypnosis is as real as life itself.
Imagine yourself as a brilliant public speaker, a confident non-smoker or someone with a toned and healthy body…With Hypnotherapy, there is no limit to what your mind can conceive and what you can achieve!
Benefits of Hypnotherapy
Most challenges in life can be helped through hypnosis. The modern medical community understands the importance of the mind-body connection in healing and the fact that much disease in the body starts with dis-ease within the mind. Additionally, habits, fears and confidence issues are all easily addressed by reprogramming the subconscious mind while in the relaxed and suggestible state of hypnosis.
Within the safety of my office, you can explore yourself and discover new positive behaviors and thought patterns to replace negative thinking. The result is increased general feelings of well-being, happiness and fulfillment.

What Is NLP?
NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming and is an approach to communication and personal development, created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the 1970s. Its creators claim a connection between the neurological processes (“neuro”), language (“linguistic”) and behavioral patterns learned through experience (“programming”) and that these can be changed to achieve specific goals in life. NLP is often referred to as the Art and Science of Excellence and one of the basic premises is that “excellence” can be modeled and learned. If you examine the lives of some of the most successful people in the world, you will find that a majority have been students of NLP. Tony Robbins is a well-known pioneer in this field.

What Is Time Line Therapy®?
Time Line Therapy® is a powerful therapeutic process that has evolved from hypnosis and NLP. Time Line Therapy® was developed by Tad James, Ph.D. in the 1980s. It was created by applying a therapeutic process to the concept that we store our memories in a linear manner in an internal memory storage system. In other words, all the memories of our lives are stored in our subconscious minds in a line, of sorts, and when in a relaxed state, we can access our oldest memories of the first event that caused a person to feel a particular emotion, even if that individual didn’t know the name of that emotion at that time.
Time Line Therapy® provides one of the most powerful processes and techniques for personal change and growth by facilitating the elimination of the painful emotions attached to memories or events in the past. Time Line Therapy® also focuses on what we can learn from those events and use as a resource for the future. Time Line Therapy® techniques produce long-lasting transformation much more quickly than many other current therapeutic techniques.
Some examples of painful and negative emotions that can hold people back include anger, sadness, fear, hurt and guilt. Time Line Therapy® addresses these, as well as limiting beliefs that oftentimes arise from the negative emotions, resulting in complete freedom to create what you want in life. Both unwanted negative emotions and limiting beliefs influence every area of our lives.
How can Time Line Therapy® Help Clients?
One of the many advantages of Time Line Therapy® is that it enables the client to release and clear gestalts or (chains) of an emotion rather than one at a time, as most other emotional release techniques do. For example, if the client has anger issues, Time Line Therapy® facilitates the releasing and clearing of ALL anger from the past and not just the anger attached to a particular event.
