The subconscious mind is often compared to a computer running a program, but many people don’t realize that this program is written during the earliest years of our lives—between the ages of 0 and 7.
During this time, our minds are like sponges, absorbing everything from the environment, our experiences, and the people around us. We don’t have a filter yet to question or evaluate the information we take in, so everything becomes part of our internal programming.
By the time we’re 7 years old, the subconscious has already developed a filter through which we perceive and interpret the world.
This filter becomes our personal Model of the World, shaping how we see reality, make decisions, and respond to life’s challenges. The tricky part is that this model is created largely by the mind of a child—a mind that knows very little about the world.
Think about it: What does a 1-year-old, a 2-year-old, or even a 3-year-old really know about life? Yet, during these formative years, we are already forming ideas, beliefs, and perceptions that stay with us for much of our adult lives.
Imagine a toddler forming beliefs about relationships, self-worth, and success. These beliefs, rooted in the limited understanding of a young child, can continue to shape your thoughts and behaviors well into adulthood. Without realizing it, many of us are living according to rules and ideas formed by that child within us. It’s as if a child is still running your life, influencing how you think, feel, and act every day.
How does that make you feel? For most people, the idea that their subconscious mind—the part of their brain responsible for most of their thoughts and behaviors—was shaped by a child’s perspective is eye-opening. It’s no wonder that we often struggle with limiting beliefs, negative self-talk, or fears that don’t seem to make sense as adults. These thoughts were formed long ago, at a time when we didn’t have the capacity to understand the full picture of life.
The good news is that you don’t have to continue living under the influence of your childhood programming. Through hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), you can take control of your subconscious mind and reprogram those outdated beliefs and patterns. Hypnotherapy allows you to access your subconscious mind directly, where you can begin to rewrite the old scripts that no longer serve you. By tapping into this deeper level of awareness, you can clear away the negative programming that has been holding you back.
In NLP coaching, you’ll learn techniques to consciously recognize and shift these limiting patterns. By understanding how your mind processes information and how it responds to life, you can begin to take control of your thoughts and behaviors. You don’t have to be at the mercy of a child’s understanding of the world anymore. You have the power to rewire your mind, create new beliefs, and take charge of your life as the adult you are today.
If you’re ready to let the adult version of yourself take over and guide your life with more clarity and confidence, hypnotherapy and NLP can help you make that shift.
It’s never too late to take control of your subconscious mind and create a reality that aligns with your true potential. I’m just a phone call away, ready to help you on this transformative journey.
