We’re all born a blank slate… a ray of light. Then, we start to understand the world with a very young child’s logic… in other words… no logic at all.
Growing up, we must make sense of things to survive. However, small children don’t have enough information about the world to make real sense of what is happening, so we “figure it out” with the information we have. We start to write a metaphoric narrative on that metaphoric slate. It is a proven fact that most of what we write is disempowering.
If you’re like me, you might remember those school days when your feelings got hurt because it felt like other kids didn’t want to play with you, making you think “there was something terribly wrong with me?”
Maybe it’s because you were teased because you wore glasses, were overweight or had learning difficulties. Maybe these feelings of inadequacy were compounded because of your own feelings of shame related to things outside of your control in your family life, like a parent dealing with alcoholism or mental illness.
Along the way, we may create the belief that somehow, we’re damaged. This belief stays with us our whole lives, even though we may cover it up and push it deep down as we grow older into adulthood… but it’s still there, only we can’t see it anymore.
This belief quietly influences our lives, shaping how we act and react without us even realizing it. We end up overcompensating for feelings of not being good enough, feelings we didn’t even know we created ourselves.
Like all of our subconscious programs—this becomes a sort of hidden code that runs in the background, guiding how we think, feel, and behave.
As a trained NLP Coach and Hypnotherapist, I’m always fascinated at how our subconscious minds get programmed… and equally fascinated at how easy it is to reprogram our minds to help us find happiness and achieve our goals.
In my work with clients, the goal is pretty straightforward: help them get back to that clean slate where the possibilities are wide open. The idea is to empower them to take charge of their own story, to be the ones steering their own ship. Through simple hypnosis and NLP techniques, clients are guided toward inner reflection, allowing us to chip away at layers of misinformation and self-doubt.
As people reconnect with who they really are, things become clearer. They see what they’re truly passionate about and what dreams matter most to them. The dreams that might have been hazy before start to come into focus, and the path to making them real becomes clearer, with no self-imposed obstacles in the way.
Our minds, powerful as they are, can believe in and come up with possibilities beyond the limits we set for ourselves. Like the saying goes, “What the mind can conceive, the mind can achieve.”
So, if you want to work on making your dreams happen and shape the best life for yourself, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here with practical tips and strategies to light up the path, unlocking the potential that’s been there in you all along.
